Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This page covers our website, versecopilot.net. What our desktop and mobile apps collect is in our Privacy Policy.
The short version
We don't use advertising cookies. We don't track you across other websites. We don't sell or share your personal information. The only things we store in your browser are the ones that make the site work — signing you in, keeping you where you were, remembering a setting you chose.
Because none of that is advertising or cross-site tracking, there's no cookie banner to click. We took ours down in August 2026 when we removed the advertising and session-recording tools it existed to ask about.
What we don't use
- No advertising or social-media pixels. We previously ran Meta and TikTok advertising tags; they were removed in August 2026 and nothing replaced them.
- No session recording. We previously ran a tool that replayed how a page was used; it was removed in the same change.
- No cross-site tracking, and no advertising profiles. Nothing on this site follows you to another site.
- No selling or sharing of personal information — not for money, and not for advertising.
How we count visits
We still want to know which pages are useful, so we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is deliberately the plainest option available: it sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, does not give you an identifier, and does not follow you to other sites. It counts page views and reports things like which page was viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what kind of browser it was — never who you are.
What's actually stored in your browser
All of it is strictly necessary: the site can't sign you in or hold your place without it. "Browser storage" means the same kind of thing as a cookie — a small amount of data kept by your browser — just stored a different way.
| What it's for | Who sets it | Cookies / storage | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keeping you signed in | Verse Copilot | __session, vc_authed (cookies) | 5 days, or until you sign out |
| Holding your sign-in session in the browser | Google Firebase Authentication, on our behalf | Browser storage used by the sign-in library | Until you sign out or clear your browser |
| Checking that a sign-up or sign-in is a real person, not a bot | Cloudflare Turnstile, on our behalf | May set its own short-lived cookie for the check | Short-lived |
| Remembering your light or dark theme choice | Verse Copilot | vc-theme (browser storage) | Until you clear it |
| Remembering the link you first arrived from, so we know which of our own pages work | Verse Copilot | vc_attribution (browser storage) | Until you clear it |
| Carrying you back where you were after signing in, and holding a few things while you use the site | Verse Copilot | Short-lived browser storage (for example: the page to return to after sign-in, a preset you were adding, an invitation you were accepting) | Until you close the tab |
| Remembering support-chat messages waiting to send, and notices you have dismissed | Verse Copilot | Browser storage used by the site | Until you clear it |
None of these are shared with an advertising company, and none of them follow you to another website.
Your controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, and you can do that here at any time. The one thing to know: blocking them will break sign-in, because staying signed in is what they're for. There's nothing optional to switch off — we didn't leave you an analytics or advertising toggle because we didn't leave you any analytics or advertising cookies.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal, which asks a site to stop selling or sharing your information for advertising. We don't do that in the first place — for anyone, signal or no signal — so there is nothing for these signals to switch off on our site.
Children
Our website and apps are for churches and their adult staff and volunteers. We don't knowingly collect information from children through cookies or browser storage.
Changes to this page
If we ever add a tool that sets a cookie or stores something new, we'll list it here and change the "Last updated" date. If we ever added anything that tracked you across other sites, we would ask you first — but we don't intend to.
